Ton v Tylorstown

Tonyrefail RFC extends a warm welcome to the players and spectators of Tylorstown RFC for today's game at Tylcha Fawr. Our visitors are currently in fifth place in the league with ten wins from twenty games and when we met them back in February Ton were 11 - 18 winners in a tight game. All of Ton's points came from kicks with the only try of the game being scored by Tylorstown and the final whistle couldn't come soon enough for Ton supporters that day. Tylorstown have one more game to play after today and two wins could see them move up to fourth spot.
Ton are currently in ninth place and a win today could see us move up one place but that depends on how Old Penarthians do. Thankfully we do not have to worry about relegation. Last weeks game against Old Penarthians was a big disappointment after the manner of the win the week before. It did not help to have the referee penalise us so often for the same thing but what I find hard to take is that we had the same ref a few weeks ago and he caught us for the same thing then. We just did not adapt to what he wanted and instead we just rubbed him up the wrong way with back chat. Having said that I appreciate it is easy to criticise from the sidelines but a little bit of thought could have avoided the cards.
As far as today goes I hope we have a good game to finish the season and a win would be very nice indeed. Finally, an apology to Steve Driscoll for refering to him as "Chris Driscoll" in the Wattstown write up. My excuse is "old age".
