Seven up for Ton.

 Tonyrefail 47 - 0 Sully View

Tonyrefail were at home to Sully View, which is a WRU approved amalgamation of the Sully Sports and Sea View rugby clubs, for this WRU Bowl fixture and they could not have got off to a better start. With only seven minutes on the clock they were on the scoreboard with a converted try after pushing the visitors off their own ball at a five metre scrum for No8 Adam Clapp to touch down and this set the tone for the rest of the half. The home  forwards were stronger in the tight and with the line-out working well they enjoyed the lion's share of possession and they used it well. They moved the ball at every opportunity and the backs ran in a further four tries showing some nice handling and running skills in the process.  All five tries were converted so the outcome was almost certain at half time with the score 35 - 0.
In the second half Ton made a number of changes and although they were not as effective they were still too strong for the visitors, who in fairness upped their game. Another two tries for Ton sealed the outcome and although Sea View enjoyed a short spell on the front foot, when some of their big forwards were able to take the ball on, they were well beaten but they fought to the end.
Ton will take heart from this result and try to build on it. The return of a few old faces together with some new ones has boosted player numbers but they would welcome any players who would want to get involved. After a tough season last year things look to be getting better and the atmosphere in the club after the last few games has been really enjoyable with more players staying for a chat and a drink
Next week Ton are away to Cardiff Saracens in a league fixture where, hopefully they can continue where they left off.
