A losing bonus point for Ton.

Ynysowen 18 - 14 Tonyrefail.                               Ton supporters travelled to Ynysowen with high hopes of a good result but as it turned out the home side were able to field a strong side and put in a performance which belied their low league position to take the winners points. Although Ton started strongly with a penalty goal for Lewis Williams and a well worked try for Jake Williams they were never able to dominate a determined Ynysowen side. After a quiet first quarter the home team began to find their feet as they played a forward based game as opposed to Ton, who tried to move the ball to the wings. They kept Ton on the back foot and some poor first up tackles allowed Ynysowen to score two tries with Ton only managing a penalty goal to make the half time score 15 -11.                          In the second half scoring opportunities were few and far between for both sides but Ton cut the deficit to one point on the hour with another Lewis Williams penalty goal before the game returned to being an arm wrestle. With seven minutes to go the home side kicked a penalty goal to take a four point lead and this spurred Ton into a big effort and they piled the pressure on but they were unable to get the try they needed to win and they had to settle for a single losing bonus point.
