October summary

Ton played three games in October with the weather and Rugby World Cup being responsible for games being postponed. An away game at Ynysowen saw Ton take the winner's points with outside half Jason Jones having a cracking game, keeping the boys on the front foot, playing some good rugby. Three tries were scored and the only disappointment was not being able to get the fourth try for a bonus point.
Then came the WRU Bowl, away, game against Pentyrch who play in the league above us. An early penalty goal gave Ton the lead but shortly after they conceded a soft try which was converted. The score remained at 7-3 until, on the stroke of half time, when the home side crossed the line for their second try. Ton were more competitive in the second half but they were competing against a much bigger pack and although they had more ball they failed to score and Pentyrch crossed for a third try in time added on to make it look like the game was easier for them than it actually was.
Then came an away game against Old Penarthians which,as a spectator, I would say we should have won. Unfortunately three missed kicks at goal meant that the home side were still in the game until the final whistle. Two late tries saw the game finish as a 22-22 draw.Ton are currently in seventh place in the league with the next game being away to Gwernyfed who are fifth
